Clean Feed Towards full implementation: Nepali Advertising market expected to double

Nepal Government has implemented the clean feed policy in all the foreign channels operating in Nepal.

After Nepal initiated full implementation of Cleanfeed on October 26, foreign channels in Nepal have started broadcasting their respective Channels without advertisement.

In the meantime, some channels have stopped broadcasting their channels while some have already resumed broadcasting after a short break.

The channels are said to be preparing infrastructures for the clean feed arrangement and may take 2 weeks, according to reports.

Foreign advertisement banned in Nepal

“Three of the 34 channels of Star Network have started broadcasting temporarily. Other channels are also following,” said Acharya, managing director of Dish Home. He informed that Sony, Colors, Zee Network and other channels have also made channels available in Cleanfeed. “Sony has already brought the cleanfeed box, but it was stopped for a few days due to lack of technicians. Star also applied to bring the box to Nepal but it was stopped due to insufficient flights,” he said.

Chairman of Nepal Advertising Association, Rabindra Kumar Rijal, said that the advertising market in Nepal could double after the implementation of clean feed.

According to him, Nepal’s current advertising market is worth Rs. 12 billion which could rise upto Rs. 24 billion in just 2 years.
